Child Care
Our mission for the Language Nest is to Provide quality care and comfort in a safe and friendly environment for the children of Pueblo de Cochiti Keres language and tradition. We do not intend to take the place of family teaching and efforts; we are here to support and help develop participant confidence where they can value themselves and others through traditional teachings.
Our staff is eager to create a positive influence on the children’s development and school readiness by providing valuable educational and social experiences. Our program offers early learning curriculum that combines and reinforces the Cochiti language, traditions and culture, along with the developmental milestones to allow children to grow and enable them to reach their full potential and be ready for the next stages of their traditional and educational journey.

Cochiti Summer Youth Language Program (CSYLP)
CSYLP was created to guide the children of Cochiti with traditional teachings. This program is an extension of the language classes offered at our local schools and the Language Nest. The CSYLP teachers, comprised of tribal members,
who are fluent in the Keres language create a positive impact on the child’s ability to acquire, develop and maintain language skills that will support the daily use of conversational Keres language. Teacher assistants are also tribal
members, in various stages of Keres fluency, who are mentored by the teachers.
Adult Education
Our Adult Education program offers assistance to adult tribal members that have not successfully completed their secondary level education, are unemployed and/or struggle with literacy skills. Through this program members will obtain a sufficient basic education to enable them to benefit from job training programs.
